PitchMaths editorial team · Updated
PitchMaths is a small, independent website that publishes football predictions made by a statistical model. It is written and maintained by an editorial team; there are no star tipsters, no paid groups and no personalities behind the tables. The numbers come from the model, and the team's job is to explain them clearly and keep the site honest.
What the site does
Four times a day the model loads new results, updates its ratings for every team and recalculates the upcoming matches in more than 70 competitions, from the European leagues to the NPFL, the Ghana Premier League, the Uganda Premier League, the Kenyan Premier League and the CAF club cups. Where a probability clears a fixed threshold, it becomes a tip. Every tip goes into a log before kick-off and is settled automatically afterwards, and the track record shows the outcome, good or bad.
The method is described in full on how our predictions are made, including what the model cannot see.
What the site does not do
- We do not sell tips, run VIP groups or charge for anything on the site.
- We do not claim inside information, and we never present a tip as certain. Any bet can lose.
- We do not edit or delete tips after kick-off, and losing tips stay in the record.
- We do not give personal betting advice by email or message.
- We do not take bets or hold money. PitchMaths is not a bookmaker.
How the site is funded
PitchMaths earns money through an affiliate link to one bookmaker, Megapari. If a reader opens an account through that link, we may receive a commission. That arrangement pays for the site, and it never changes a prediction: the model does not know which bookmaker we work with, and the thresholds are the same for every match. The bookmaker's odds that appear in the tables come from its own feed and are shown with the time they were collected.
The bookmaker's offer appears in a clearly marked box with its terms. It is for adults aged 18+ only.
Data and credits
Results and fixtures are gathered from public sources: the openfootball project (public domain), OpenLigaDB for the Bundesliga (ODbL), Wikipedia contributors for the UEFA and CAF club competitions (CC BY-SA 4.0), and the official sites of the Uganda Premier League, the Tanzania Premier League Board and South Africa's Premier Soccer League, from which we take facts only. Odds come from the bookmaker's own feed. The full list with each licence is at the end of how our predictions are made.
Contact
Write to the editorial team at [email protected]. Useful messages include a wrong score or kick-off time, a match settled incorrectly, a broken page, or a question about how the model works. We read everything and look into every reported error, but we cannot answer requests for private tips or predictions for matches that are not on the site.
For how we handle the little data the site collects, see the privacy policy; the rules for using the site are in the terms of use. If betting has stopped being fun for you or someone close to you, the responsible gambling page lists free support.
